Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres attended a Dallas Cowboys game and sat next to former president George W. Bush and was laughing and having a fun time.

What do this scenario have in common? Ellen got hate for talking to people who are different than them. Ellen said on her show when the photo came out, she has friends and people in her life who are different than she is. She stated she doesn’t have to agree with everyone to show kindness and be friends with someone.

“I’m friends with a lot people who don’t share the same beliefs that I have,” Ellen stated on her show, “We’re all different and I think we’ve forgotten that that’s okay.”

She stated to be kind to everyone, not just those you agree with, but everyone. I think that’s an important message we do forget about. It’s easy to be kind to someone who’s just like us. I agree with her message to be kind to everyone. Jesus said “Love your enemies.” If you start a conversation with someone, you might find out we’re not that much different.
