Lest We Forget...

The Constitution of the United States took several years to draft. It also took awhile to become ratified by all the states.

In order to secure the approval of all the states, a list of things needed to be secured. A Bill of Rights, as we now know it, was included as amendments to the newly formed outline for Government. The Bill of Rights secured what was feared by the people—large governmental control over the people.
