New Year, New Change

With the new year coming up, it’s usually a time for changes. The year 2020 has been a crazy year for everyone. We all hope 2021 turns out better. I got offered a job that I decided to take as editor at the Eagle Democrat newspaper in Warren. It’s funny how things happen. I wasn’t looking for a job anywhere. I got a call out of the blue from the publisher in Warren saying they were looking for an editor and a few people recommended me from seeing my work here at the South Arkansas Sun. I guess I’m doing a good job haha! I decided to talk with them. After meeting with them, and talking with my parents, who own the South Arkansas Sun, we decided it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. So, I will begin my job as editor there on January 11. Until then, I’m still here at the South Arkansas Sun. I’ll still be around also. I know the newspaper will continue without me and will continue to do well, but I will miss it. I’ve seen this community come together through difficult times and willingly help each other. That’s something I’ll never forget about Hampton. When I first moved back here, it was definitely a transition from a big city like Fort Worth to Hampton. Even through struggles, I’ve learned a lot working here and feel I have grown in a lot of ways. I’m thankful for all of you. Hope everyone has a happy and blessed new year!
