The Widow of The South Part 2

In the last press release I reported on the book The Widow of The South by Robert Hicks. Although a fictional depiction, it shows the impact of a civil war battle on soldiers and civilians and is based on real people. On April 9th, 1865, the day General Robert E. Lee surrendered, the ten decimated Arkansas Infantry Regiments of the Army of Tennessee reorganized one final time into one regiment, the 1st Ark Consolidated Infantry. Following Franklin, they had fought their last battle in March at Bentonville, NC and surrendered April 26, 1865 at Durham Station, NC.
