The early years of the United States includes tales of many daring explorers. One of these figures was Benjamin Louis Eulalie de Bonneville, a Frenchmen by birth who immigrated to the United States and eventually made Arkansas his home. Bonneville gave Americans a much clearer view of the Rocky Mountain West thanks to his travels in the 1830s.

For 185 years, Arkansas has been a state. While Arkansans have long enjoyed their status as the twenty-fifth state, Arkansas had to jump over many political hurdles to reach statehood.

Ransomware

Ransomware has been in the news a lot lately. This ingenious bit of software is a popular tool for thieves to separate you from your hard-earned money. The problem with it is that it works. There is no known fix once your computer has been infected. To get your files back you will probably have to pay the extortion and hope the unlock works.

TALES FROM THE SHIRE

A pair of red slide sandals with a cute flag emblem on them are showing signs of wear. The lining at my little toe has worn through and the outside of the heel has no sign of tread. They have been my summer faves and in winter I can adjust the single band so that I can wear socks.

The Taxman is Coming

One estimate is that there is between $500 billion and $1 Trillion in untaxed money in the American economy. From under reporting to down right fraud there is a lot of money flowing under the table. The IRS has an under-reporting program based on variance from the reporting down by third parties and what is reported to the IRS by taxpayers. If you forget to include that withdrawal from your retirement account, then the IRS computers will usually catch something like that and generate a proposed billing to the taxpayer.
