100 Years Old, 80 Years of Marriage

Harrell resident William “Jack” Bush and his wife Nona Lee McRae Bush both had notable birthdays last week —he turned 100 and she turned 99.

In addition to those notable birthdays, the couple will also mark their 80th anniversary this year.

“The Lord was good to me to get to this age, I’m telling ya,” Bush declared in a recent interview about his century mark. In nearly every topic, he would interject a sincere “the Lord has been good to me” comment.

How did they meet? Bush is not sure of the details, he said with a wide grin because “it’s been so long!”
