Arrest Made at Detention Center

On 2/8/19, Sheriff Vernon Morris, Chief Deputy Andy Carter, and Hampton Police Chief Cody Wilson was at the Calhoun County Sheriff ’s Offi ce when Jorden Sample arrived to visit with an inmate incarcerated at the Calhoun County Detention Center. Sample was brought into the booking room by the Jailer. When she entered the booking room, she was carrying a large purse. Sheriff Morris, Chief Deputy Carter, and Hampton Police Chief Wilson made contact with Sample for bringing the large bag into the facility. Under Arkansas Law all items and persons are subject to a search at a correctional facility. After making contact with Sample, the odor of marijuana was detected coming from her immediate area.
