Bulldogs Pick Up Wins Against Strong and Bearden

The Hampton Bulldogs have jumped out to a quick start in the rugged 8-2A conference by winning games at Strong and at home against Bearden.

The game at Strong was a sloppy affair, as the rain came down for most of the night, but the Bulldogs prevailed 28-0. Hampton got on the board with 4:35 left in the 1st quarter on a 5 yard run by Zy Johnson. Johnson then ran in the 2 point play for an 8-0 lead. Zy struck again in the 2nd quarter with another 5 yard TD jaunt. This time Cymeon McRae ran it in for the 2 points and it was 16-0 Bulldogs at the half.

The 2nd half provided 2 more Hampton touchdowns, a short run by McRae made it 22-0 and then Cym recovered a Strong fumble in the end zone for 6 more as Hampton eased on to the 4 touchdown win.

Last Friday the Bulldogs took on arch-rival Bearden in their annual homecoming game, There was a lot on the line as both teams came in 1-0 in the league and looking to stay in a tie for 1st with Fordyce.
