Church Pays Way for Camp and Missionaries With Fireworks
Driving through Hampton or going down Sixth Street, you may notice a small building selling fireworks during the New Years or July 4th holidays. Hampton First Assembly of God runs the fireworks stand during the holidays. This time, you can enter a drawing to win this $250 fireworks package when you purchase a certain amount of fireworks.
The church has been running the fireworks stand for about 20 years. It was started as a way to raise funds to support missionaries that the youth group sponsor and the remainder is used to pay the way for kids and youth to go to church camp each year. Members volunteer their time to run the fireworks stand.
