County Urges Residents to Complete Census 2020

The census response rate listed for Calhoun County is 29.1% in Arkansas. Calhoun County ranks 73 out of 75 counties in Arkansas in census self-response. The state of Arkansas is ranked 42 out of 50 states in the census self-response participation of 55.4%.

“It is very important for the people of our county to fill out the census report because us being the smallest populated county in the state therefore we get the least amount of funding,” said County Judge Floyd Nutt.

Nutt said the census is strictly for funding purposes for the school, county, and cities.

“For our young people coming up we need 100% done,” said Nutt, “That’s what needs to be the goal is to get everybody fill out the census and get a good report on it so we can get what funding is due to us and that’s the only way we’re going to get it.”
