Hampton Schools Returning to Five Days
The Hampton School District will go back to five regular school days in the second semester instead of having Fridays as a virtual day. Angie Ferrell and Tara Gates were hired by the board as remote learning tutors to help students who are doing remote learning. Superintendent Doug Worley hopes it will reduce some of the burden on students doing remote learning.
Board members Cody Ables and Steve Ivy received the Outstanding Board Member Award from the Arkansas School Board Association. The awards are given to members elected prior to 2018 and earning 25 hours of continuing education credit.
Financial Planner, Norman Hill told the school board they would end this year in good shape financially, however he shared some challenges the school district may face in the next few years. Worley told the board he wants them to be proactive in planning the finances for the next two to three years.
