Library Announces Summer Reading Activity Schedule

The Calhoun County Library has finalized the schedule of activities for this year’s Summer Reading Program! The theme is “A Universe of Stories,” and all of our crafts, activities, and movies are space-themed. Summer Reading will begin on June 10 with our Kick-Off Party, and reading logs will be due by 5pm on July

19. Like last year, every completed reading log will count as an entry into the drawing for a brand new Kindle Fire tablet. Reading logs will be handed out from June 10 until July 12, and each will take approximately 8 hours of reading to complete. This reading can be done alone or with a parent or other partner, and can be any book, audiobook, magazine, article, etc. As long as you’re reading, it doesn’t matter what it is! All children ages 0-18 are invited to participate. We have added many, many new titles for children and teens in the past few months, including picture books, chapter books, graphic novels and comics, and fascinating nonfiction.
