Storm Spotter Training Program Scheduled for March 2

The severe storm season of 2019 brought with it 33 tornadoes, 40 reports of thunderstorm wind damage caused by winds of over 75 mph, four reports of two inch or larger hail, and hundreds of reports of flash flooding. Unfortunately, there were five fatalities directly attributed to severe weather in 2019, four were from flash flooding, and one was from thunderstorm winds.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock wants to help you prepare for the 2020 severe weather season. To help get you ready, the National Weather Service will be offering a SKYWARN storm spotter training program on Monday, March 2nd, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The program will be held at the Calhoun County Training Center at 555 9th Street, Hampton AR, and is held in partnership with Calhoun County Emergency Management.
