Students Paint Piggy Banks for Class
Seventh and eighth grade students worked hard on their 4th unit in Ms. Moore’s literacy class. They began reading the novel, The Pigman, by Paul Zindel. The book is about the friendship of two teenagers with a lonely old man, Mr. Pignati. His wife gave him the nickname, Pigman, because he collected pig figures made of different material.
Mrs. Nix read the book to the 7th graders while the 8th graders read and discussed it in class. After the book work and unit test, the students began researching their breed of pig. Amazingly, there are students who raise and show pigs, so pigs are common around Calhoun county. The students took notes and typed their reports.
