Summer Library Program Kicks Off

On Monday, June 10, the Calhoun County Library’s 2019 Summer Reading Program offi cially kicks off ! All children ages 0-18 are invited to participate in the reading challenge to earn an entry into the drawing for a brand new Kindle Fire tablet, and we will be having fun crafts and activities all summer long for kids of all ages. On Monday, reading logs and sticker sheets will become available. To complete the challenge and earn an entry into the prize drawing, participants must read for a total of 8 hours (measured in 15-minute increments). Every reading log completed will count as another entry into the drawing - the more you read, the higher your chances of winning! We will also have space-themed snacks and cupcakes on Monday while supplies last, and we’ll be playing animated space movies in the kids room all day. We’ve added many, many new titles to the picture book, chapter book, and juvenile graphic novel collections over the past few months, and we’re excited to share our space-themed summer fun and all the new books with you.
