Thornton to Kick Off Hogskin Holidays

Thornton will kick off the Calhoun County Hogskin Holidays Festival on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Th e Festival is an annual event that was started several years ago, and Thornton was designated as the area to begin the kickoff . Its tradition is valued in the sense that it brings the entire community, surrounding areas and people from across Arkansas together for common purposes.

Th e Kickoff will begin with live musical entertainment and a barbecue dinner that will be held at the Th ornton Fire Station/Community Room in Th ornton, Arkansas, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Adult tickets for the event may be purchased for $10.00. Tickets for children under 12 years of age may be purchased for $5.00. Carry outs will be available for those who do not desire to stay and eat. Live music will be provided for your entertainment throughout the event. As in the past, valuable door prizes will be awarded throughout the event.
