Hampton Honor Graduates Announced
Forty-five seniors will participate during graduation exercises at Hampton High School’s Gymnasium on Friday, July 31, 2020. Class valedictorian, Katy Reagan, and class salutatorian, Kendal Duff, will address the class. Mr. Bryan Sanders, Principal, will recognize scholarship recipients, followed by the presentation of the class.
COVID Update
Even though the Republicans and the Democrats are 2 Trillion dollars apart in their stimulus plans for the next relief bill it is increasingly likely some compromise will happen. Both sides want stimulus checks sent to individuals again and the likely amount will be $1,200 per individual plus some for dependents. Last time, dependents 17 years old or older were not eligible for a payment, but there is a lot of push to include more of them in the next payment.
TALES FROM THE SHIRE
More than half the summer is gone, so I had better get going on that to-do list because mostly I’ve been doing the what not-to-do list, like reading, watching true crime shows, and going shopping. It’s not spree shopping, but bargain shopping while doing the necessary food and miscellaneous shopping. If there’s a clearance sign, I’m on it. Usually the great finds go into a “for school” stash.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is charged with protecting and serving all people without regard for the person’s race, color, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, ancestry, or disabilities. The corona virus (COVID-19) issue has caused many debates among people and the best way to go about handling this threat to our health, safety, and welfare.
