Thornton Receives Funds for Community Center
Thornton Step by Step was notified they are the recipients of $13,000 from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund. This money will be used in the construction of the Thornton Community Center.

The Snap N’ Chop Butcher Shop opens up on Friday, January 1. The shop will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. It will be closed on Sundays.
The family of the late Officer Roger Adams accepted the award on his behalf.
The Hampton School District will go back to five regular school days in the second semester instead of having Fridays as a virtual day. Angie Ferrell and Tara Gates were hired by the board as remote learning tutors to help students who are doing remote learning. Superintendent Doug Worley hopes it will reduce some of the burden on students doing remote learning.
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Highway 172 in Hampton, is having its second food drive this coming Tuesday, Dec. 22, starting at 10 a.m.
