The Hampton City Council met this past Monday and wanted to make sure the public was aware/ warned of some changes made to the Animal Ordinance and some enforcements being made for varius activities around the city.
The South Arkansas Sun placed in several categories at the annual Arkansas Press Association convention. Columnist Jeri Shire was awarded first place in the “humorous column” category for the column “Feeling Financially Fit.” She also received second place in the humorous column category again for her column “Sleeping In.”
The Hampton tennis team hosted the 2A-8 District Tennis Tournament at Parkers Chapel. Hampton Tennis placed as follows: Justin McDaniel 4th place Boys Singles, Ricky Belin and Ryder Madera 3rd place Boys Doubles, and Lily Floss and Brooke Ricker 3rd place Girls Doubles. All five of these athletes are State bound which will be held in Jonesboro October 12-13.
The #2 ranked Go-Devils of Gurdon showed exactly why they are so highly acclaimed this past Friday as they powered their way past the Hampton Bulldogs 55-20.
The city of Harrell hosted the annual Fall Fest at Harrell City Park. The speakers were Senator Trent Garner, Representative Jeff Wardlaw, Raymond Buzbee, Jr. and Reeco Williams from Harrell.
