Agnes L. Newton

Agnes L. Newton, 92, of Hampton died Wednesday, May 6th 2020 at the Belle View Nursing and Rehab Center in Monticello. Born February 17, 1928 in Calhoun County, she was daughter of the late Thomas E. and Mattie Hines Little. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hampton and a retired teacher’s aid from the Hampton School District.

Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jack Newton of Hampton.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Newton and his wife Brenda of Monticello, Pat Newton and his wife Vickie of Hampton; two grandchildren, Jeff Newton and his wife Sara of Monticello, Brent Newton and his wife Shawnee of Hampton; a step-granddaughter Kerri Weatherford and husband Michael of Sherwood, and nine great grandchildren, Cade and Brooks Newton of Monticello, Kaleb, Riley and Knox Newton of Hampton, Kylie McNutt, Cash, Charlee and Maci Kate Weatherford of Sherwood.

Due to the restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 virus only a private graveside will be held at the Campground Cemetery in Hampton on Thursday, May 7th.
