Farano DeJon Walter

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Farano DeJon Walter at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Hampton. Farano, 18, was a 2016 graduate of Hampton High School, where he played on the football and basketball teams. He was born July 29, 1998 to Frank Walter Jr., and the late Myesha S. Reed in El Dorado, and he died May 11 in Florida. Preceding him in death were his mother, Myesha S. Reed, grandfathers Delano Green and Frank Walter Sr., grandmother, Ally Mea Walter, one brother, Bernard Walter, a cousin, LaJoyce Walter, great grandmother Bernice Meadows, and uncle, Thomas Smith II. Farano is survived by his father and stepmother, Frank & Sandra Walter of Hampton, four brothers, Lavoisier Smith, Pensacola, FL., and Kerry Golden, Cavassa Thomas, and Kyle Thomas, all of Hampton. Other survivors include a sister, Darrilyn Thomas, Hampton; grandmother, Mable Reed, El Dorado; five uncles, Joe Walter, Hampton, Terry Reed (Victoria), Spearsville, LA, George Reed, of El Dorado, and Franklin and Victor Green of Conway. Also, aunts Valerie Smith and Virginia, El Dorado, and Effie Brown of Milwaukee; a special brother, Marquez Williams; two special cousins, Tomijah Smith and D.D. Tolefree, one niece, two nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral was officiated by Rev. Rodney Williams and Bishop John Daniel, and eulogy was presented by Bishop Steven Paylor, pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, with interment at Pickett Cemetery in Hampton.
