Velma Jeffreys

On March 13th 2020 Velma Jeffreys finally went home. She died at home surrounded by her loved ones. Velma was born April 16th, 1933 at Troy Arkansas to Lee Bella Parr and Ruby Ables Parr.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Johnny Parr and Leroy Parr; and her sisters, Leona Reynolds and Ola Mae Wright.

Velma married Homer B. Jeffreys May 28th 1955. They were married for 64 years.

Velma is survived by her husband, Homer B. Jeffreys; daughter, Sandra Kaye Higgs; and son-in-law, Keith Higgs; two grandchildren, J.L. Higgs and wife, Cathy, Crystal Simmons; son-inlaw, Danny Hodge and wife, April; four great grandchildren, Mason Hodge, Kendal Higgs, Dixon Hodge, and Madison Hodge.

Velma’s daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of Velma’s kind spirit, passion for gardening, love of cooking, and joy of fishing will live on through them.

Graveside service was held 2:00PM Monday, March 16th 2020 at Lakeside Cemetery.
