Hampton Rides Undefeated Year in to 2A Championship Game

England, the #1 team in division 2A and a very good football team, came into Hampton with the idea that the Dogs were just a warm up game for the state championship game. Well, in the words of Gomer Pyle, “Surprise, surprise, surprise”.

A defense, by the Dogs, one like The Lions had yet to see, and an offense that had been destroying opposing defenses all year, caged the ‘King of the Jungle’ and sent them home to wait until next year.

Hampton’s defense contributed big-time to England’s demise and to three TDs with three interceptions by Brian Williams, Terrence Neal and Immanuel Hegler; a hustling fumble recovery by Bryar Nutt and a punt return, for a score, by Monta Thomas.
