Star City Rolls by Hampton Bulldogs
The Hampton Bulldogs put up a good fight against 4A Star City last Friday night but in the end the Bulldogs from Lincoln County had too much depth and power to overcome. Hampton was able to put up 3 touchdowns on the night as Ashton Rice threw for 176 yards and all 3 of the Hampton touchdowns. Sophomores Tavion Galbert and Zy Johnson caught the 3 scoring passes with Galbert snagging 2 and Johnson the other.
On the other hand Star City did most of their damage with a brutal running attack that lead them to the 49-18 victory.
Easton Welch led Hampton defensively with 11 tackles and Jemison McPherson had 8 stops. McPherson also had a stellar night snapping the football grading out 98% on special teams and 92% on the offensive line. His all-around stellar night earned him the “Farm Bureau Player of the Game”.
Hampton will return to action Friday night as they take on the Lafayette County Cougars at 7:00 PM at Boyd Arnold Stadium.
