Editorial
There have always been wars in this world, somewhere. Today, it's Ukraine v. Russia, Israel v. Gaza and now Iran.
The Middle East has always been the center of conflicts. The attempts at peace throughout the years have been short lived. Africa has areas where regimes come and go on a regular basis along with the seasons. The far eastern countries stand on the edge of ignition waiting for the right spark to ignite the world into another war.
The root of war goes back to the beginning of civilization. The desire to rule over others and conquer lands has been the cause of wars through the centuries. The elimination of all wars is not in the realm of human nature. Peace by force only leads to war. The best of leaders and governments is limited by the innate frailties of human nature.
As we approach the birthday of the United States, we have to realize that the freedom and luxuries afforded to us today are only available because of the sacrifice of those who gave their life for the cause.
It was out of war that built this nation. It was out of war that slaves were freed. It was out of war that tyranny was stifled. And, it is out of war we begin new lives, new ways, and new commitments.
