Hampton School District Announces Back to School Updates for 2025-2026

The Hampton School District is excited to have the students and teachers coming back to school next week. There are some great things that have happened over the past two months while the students have been away.

The security of the entire School District has improved with the completion of the fencing around the south side of the High School. This completes a project aimed to secure the entire District and to help direct visitors to campus to one of the two school offices. Knowing who is on campus at all times helps us be more assured that our students are safe while at school. The Elementary office has completed a remodel that began with the tornado damage from 2024 and new paint throughout the Elementary hallway. The tennis courts will also be completed in the next week with a new playing surface, new fencing, and lights.

The Hampton High School will have new times at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year. Grades 7-12 will begin at 7:45 AM and end the day at 3:10 PM. There will be no change to times at Hampton Elementary School including ABC Preschool. This change is coming so that the instructional minutes can be met for all students.

Hampton Schools will have several new items for students and parents in the upcoming school year. Free breakfast for all students and new policy regarding cell phones and personal devices for students. Due to new state law, the school district will not allow students to have cell phones or personal digital devices from 7:45 AM to 3:10 PM. The new cell phone policy can be reviewed in the student handbook. We are proud to announce the opening of a third Preschool classroom. Due to high demand for pre-school services, this will be two consecutive years Hampton has added to our preschool availability.

The big school and community initiative for the coming year will be to increase attendance of the students at Hampton. There is real importance for students to be at school everyday. The school staff and community will focus efforts to curb the high frequency of absenteeism. The new attendance policy can be reviewed in the student handbook available on the district website.

Please be aware of the following events that are happening soon: Open House will be July 22 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Community hosted Campus Prayer Walk on July 23 at 7:00 PM Annual Boo-Hoo Breakfast for the incoming Kindergarten students and their parents/ guardians on July 24 in the school cafeteria at 8:15 AM.

Once again, welcome back to our teachers and students. We can not wait to see everyone back together again.
