Today, a group of 2026 Hampton High School Juniors and Seniors had the pleasure of visiting the Calhoun County Senior Citizens Center! On this bright Thursday, November 6, 2025, our students took the time to introduce themselves and connect with the wonderful folks at the center.
The students were AMAZING and the visit turned out to be a great time!
A huge shout out to Miss Melba Tomlison and Director Cheryl Furr for allowing our students to visit. Miss Regina Murphy invited her Juniors from Junior Seminar, and Ms. Angie Ferrell invited the 2026 Seniors. Only students who wanted to volunteer went to the center.
We are excited to offer our students this opportunity to earn volunteer hours and build bridges between generations. Our students are eager to volunteer there in the future.
Huge thanks to our amazing volunteers who made today special: 2026 HHS Seniors Amy Bobadilla, Abigail Sanchez, Alaijah Stephens, Allison Coke, Amiyah Wiley, Asher Rice, Ayshia Braison, Braiden Giraud, Daren Norris, Deondre 'Man-Man' Smith, Derrick 'DJ' Clarke, DQuanta Miller, Gracie Cordell, Olivia Foust, Trinity Smith, Tyrell JR Smith, and 2026 HHS Juniors Artavious Ballard, Jonah Cruz, McKinly Jacobs, Braylon Moore, Tyrese Osburn, and Jakayla Stephens. Plus, we appreciate Mr. Tom Sawyer for driving our group to the center and participating in our visit.
Students enjoyed hearing stories and learning from our senior community.
We're looking forward to more volunteering opportunities in the future! We are thinking about calling this either 'Seniors Visiting with Seniors' or 'Seniors Hanging with Seniors'. Please vote your preference by hearting or liking the following logos.
