Nothing is more disappointing than losing and this week has seen two loses for Hampton.
Friday Night Lights
The first came on Friday night when the Hampton Bulldogs continued to trail against Mineral Springs Hornets for the duration of the game ending with a lose of32 to 6. Although Hampton took first place in the conference, Mineral Springs took the spot for the next game against Des Arc.
The Hampton Bulldogs ended their conference season with only one lose against Bearden who also lost against Junction City last Friday.
Tuesday Night Votes
The second lose was a vote on the 1% Sales Tax increase for roads. The total number of votes cast was 358. Although there were some provisional ballots, there are not enough to change the outcome. When the early voting was tabulated the count was 54-54. The final (unofficial) tally has 167 For the tax and 191 Against the tax.
The breakdown by precincts are as follows (for-against): Bearden 9-12; Chambersville 22-11; Tinsman 23-14; Harrell 32-31; Champagnelle 25-27; Locust 6-24; Woodberry 15-13; Hampton 20-39; and Hampton South 15-20.
