It's as Cold as Ice

There are times we don't like what the government is doing... Maybe most of the time. Protests, strikes and boycotts have their place and can make a difference. However, the most effective method to make change is at the ballot box. Bullying and resisting authority is not the best and the outcome can be tragic, as we have seen in recent days.

The laws the government is enforcing are those created by our elected officials. Sometimes, when they haven't been enforced for awhile, it seems they are over stepping their bounds. Because the border was pretty much none existent for the past several years, thousands of people from other countries walked right in our country with no passport, purpose or promise. It was assumed that all was alright and they could just live a life in the best country in the world without having to pay taxes or even report earnings (as we as law abiding citizens are required, by law, to do.) Explain to me the fairness in that.

The tactics and methods sometimes may seem acute, especially when it hits close to home, but not enforcing laws means we have to make more laws to not enforce so those obeying the law can take care of those disobeying the law. Where does it end?

Our nation is set up to make laws, change laws and enforce laws and judge laws, but it all begins with a vote.
