Don't Be Afraid to Try... Again

Editorial

Failure is a part of learning. To not try again is giving up, conceding to defeat. Failure is a harsh word, kinda like hate and can be misused and misunderstood. Failure is simply not success. To try again after failure, or lack of success, is to pursue achievement, success.

Einstein had some notable quotes on the subject of failure. 'A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.' 'Failure is success in progress.' 'You never fail until you stop trying.' A smart and intelligent person is one who embraces failure with an attitude of innovation and exploration toward trying to succeed.

I excel and trying again. Maybe it's because I fail so often and am trying to get it right. There is never a lack of mistakes or failures in whatever it is. No matter what we do there is always opportunity for failure and thus an opportunity for improvement, success.

To try again without understanding the why of failure is not the wisest pursuit. Failing to fix the reason of failure and trying again is just not reasonable and most likely will result in a repeat of the failure. Try it a different way and expect different results.

Now here's where it gets tricking. To try again and again, and again and again... just becomes work. We have been accustomed to instant gratification and if we don't get what we expect, we move on and never experience the satisfaction of honest, hard working, success.

Learn to live with failure but not content with it. When you fail, try again. And, when you fail again, try again. We don't like failure but the challenge to overcome defeat motivates us toward success.

Because social media, and old fashioned gossip, our failures can be laughed at and ridiculed leaving us discouraged and defeated. But to try again is a slap in the face of those who mock. So, once again, we will try it and look to succeed even greater.
