Thornton will kick-off the Calhoun County Hogskin Holidays Festival on Saturday, April 4, 2026, with live music for entertainment beginning at 3:00 p.m., along with a barbecue dinner from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Valuable door prizes will be awarded. Tickets may be purchased for $12.00 each. This is a yearly event sponsored by Thornton Step-By-Step, Inc., an organization within the community, working in conjunction with the City of Thornton, focusing on community improvement.
