Pinwheels

Pinwheels

Who doesn’t love finger foods? I don’t see anything working out better for a gathering or a birthday party than a variety of good snacks you can grab while visiting, while you get to try a little bit of everything without overdoing it. Finger foods are convenient as you can prepare them ahead of time and they are easy to clean up and pack for to go favors. Pinwheels belong in the spread every time. They are cool and refreshing and pair so well with a good homemade salsa. Let me tell you how I make mine.

Ingredients:

1 package of large flour tortillas 1 block softened cream cheese ¼ cup mayo or sour cream 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 small can chopped black olives 1 bunch of green onions, chopped 10 pieces of chopped ham or bacon 1 tsp. garlic powder 2 tbsp. Ranch seasoning Add all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and combine well. You want to make a spread for easy, smooth application. With the back of a spoon or rubber spatula, spread a good amount to each tortilla covering the whole thing. Tightly roll each tortilla and then wrap it in plastic wrap individually. Let them sit in the refrigerator for a few hours or the freezer for just a few minutes to ensure they are set and will slice easily. Before serving, slice them up in about ½” to ¾” pieces.

To serve, place them on a large round platter, arrange the wheels around with a small bowl of salsa in the middle.

DELICOUS. There won’t be many left, but if there are, they stay good in the refrigerator for up to a week. Such a good, tasty snack.

ENJOY!
