Calhoun County Welcomes New 4-H/FCS Agent, Kalli Smith

Calhoun County is pleased to welcome its newest addition to the Extension team, Kalli Smith, who began her role as 4-H/Family & Consumer Sciences Agent in May. In the weeks since her arrival, Smith has settled in quickly by getting her office established, meeting community partners, and becoming familiar with the many programs that make Calhoun County thrive.

A native of Grannis, Arkansas, Smith is a recent graduate of Southern Arkansas University, where she earned her degree in Agriculture Business. She brings with her a strong foundation in the Extension mission, havingbeenanactive 4-H member throughout her youth and completing a summer internship with the dedicated staff at the UADA Sevier County Extension Office.

Her experience, enthusiasm, and passion for serving communities make her a valuable addition to the Calhoun County Extension Office. The FCS Agent position has been vacant since 2024, making Smith’s arrival especially significant for the county. Her background, energy, and commitment to service are expected to strengthen programming across the county and revitalize efforts that have been on hold.

Community members are encouraged to welcome Kalli as she continues her work here. If you meet her at an event or around town, a warm Calhoun County hello will go a long way in helping her feel right at home.
