New boutique boasts cute camo collection
Desiring a more family friendly schedule that worked with her children’s activities, Whitney Bradford set aside full time nursing to open Ivy and Oak Boutique in downtown Hampton for shoppers wanting quality casual everyday wear.
The name Ivy and Oak came from the birth trees, like birthstones, of her children, who she said is “the heart of everything I do”.
Bradford is building more inventory since her opening in early June. “I get new stuff nearly every week,” she said, adding that she will go to market in early fall for even more items.
Currently, her denim shorts and jeans come from Risen. They can be matched up with rich colored graphic t-shirts from Tailored South that have outdoor sports and inspirational themes. For a little more girly girl look, there are matching shorts sets from LA Society.
The outdoor theme, particularly fashionable camouflage, is evident in accessories from head to toe. Hair clips and caps identify fishing or football mommas, big bags tout camouflage or ducks, and neutral colored sandals match it all. A large collection of lip balm from Summer Fridays is good for any day, all year.
Other accessories include earrings, bracelets, and crossbody bags, even camouflage fleece blanket throws, She didn’t forget the men and boys who can pick hunting or fishing tees also from Tailored South. More men’s shirts are on order.
Bright colors are the eye-catching feature on baby clothes and little girls’ dresses and jumpsuits.
Bradford is grateful for the reception she’s already had even after just a month in business. “I want to thank the town of Hampton for supporting me,” she said. “Hampton’s a great little community.”
