The fire has engulfed 2,843 acres as estimated by the Arkansas Forestry Commission.
Besides the local firefighting units, resources from around the country was dispatched to aide in containing the wildfire around the bunkers in the area. Estimated cost to date is over $200,000.
Aerial assets included: a Boeing 767 tanker, one of the largest firefighting planes in the world, along with other smaller tankers; three air tractors (crop dusters); two black hawks; and aerial monitoring planes included a King Air, Commander and Cessna Citation. Several of the assets were operated by Coulson Aviation a global leaders in aerial firefighting.
