When I stop to think about what a powerful God we serve, it is mind blowing. Think about a God that can part the Red Sea. When the Children of Israel had no hope, God stepped in and saved every one of them. He didn’t rescue just a few but He rescued millions of people. Think about a God that has a plan to rescue every person in this whole world out of their situations when they call on him. That is a powerful God. What about when the Children of Israel were in battle helping the Gibeonites. The Children of Israel were winning the battle but they needed more daylight to finish the battle. Joshua didn’t want the darkness to come and end the battle so he prayed to God to let the sun stand still and that is what God did. The sun did not move until Israel won the battle which was approximately 24 hours. Scientist have proved there is approximately 24 hours of time that is not accounted for.
How can Oil flow from a little bottle and fill up a house full of vessels? The little widow in 2 Kings Chapter 4 had a dilemma. Her husband had died leaving her with a large debt and no money. The debtors were coming to get her children and make slaves out of them but Elisha told her to borrow every vessel she could and begin pouring oil. When she filled every vessel she could, the oil stopped flowing. She sold the oil, paid her debt and had money enough to live on. Where did the oil come from? It came from God who has no limits.
How many of us can go out and strike a rock and water start flowing out of it? All of us can if God tells us to just like Moses did, but none of us can if God doesn’t tell us to do it.
Who created the big fish to swallow Jonah? Jonah didn’t want to do what God was calling him to do so he was going to run away from God. Did you know, you can’t run away from God? God is everywhere. All Jonah did by running away was cause himself three days of pain and suffering filled with lots of fear. Don’t run from God because he just may have a “Big Fish” waiting on you that will only cause you a lot of pain and suffering and also a lot of expense. Remember this story, the crew on the ship threw over a lot of their cargo trying to save the ship before they threw Jonah over. These are just a few of the stories in the Bible of how God performed powerful miracles. We are serving a God that has the answer to everything we deal with. Why do we limit Him so much of the time? We limit him because our mind can’t comprehend that God will do for us. We feel like God has more important needs than our little problems but we are serving a God that cares about every need no matter how big or small it may be. Let faith arise and see how God can turn around an impossible situation for you. We serve a powerful God who cares about you!
