Two 'Greatest Generation' Battleship Gunners from WWII at Veterans Day Observance

H. P. Rowen (Left) served on the USS West Virginia and Dusty Lansdale (Right) served on the USS Maryland. Both battleships survived the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and exacted a terrible revenge on the Japanese Navy. Both veterans were gunners on the legendary 16 inch main guns of those historic battleships. They are the two oldest veterans in the county.
