Cancel = Censorship

Dr. Suess is now in the noose to be canceled. This action along with Mr. Potato Head and the Muppets has given rise to what can only be rendered as censorship.

Call it cancel culture or political correctness, bottom line it is censorship. Whoever is running this canceling pandemic needs to be enlightened. These folks calling themselves “woke” should be woken up to the reality and need for a variety of ideas, speech and writings. Without the history of ideas we will no doubt repeat the woes of the past.

Every thought, writing, concept or idea out there is not good, perhaps even this little writing, but it reflects a moment in time and a discussion within of ideology of who we are at that moment in history. Everything we read should not become a part of who we are. We should not expect the books we read build and design our character. Dr. Suess is about reading, learning to read. To glean an attitude of hatred and racial or any other bigotry from these books there would have to be an underlying propensity. And, that my friend is the real issue.
