New Year, New Opportunities

The new year has brought some new changes. Not all changes are by choice. Some changes will soon revert back and some will grow to be loved. Depending on your age, change is embraced or repelled. Your sense of security or dependence will also have an impact on the resistance to change. Your political leanings can also give weight to the worthiness of change. How we see change is reflective of the way we see (our) life.

Something changes that we don’t like... the world hates us, or is against us. Because I don’t like the change, then I don’t like you--or the agent we deem responsible. If the changes adversely affects our life then the change is bad and we attempt denial and rejection, or separation. Our response gives us power, or at least we feel like it does. The change is still out of our control. The change that gives us the most grief is that which we do not expect. The ones for which our expectations are not fulfilled fall well within this category.
