Wokeness Warps Weality

Nothing or no one is immune from the possibility of being canceled by the so-called “woke” culture. When the beloved (at least to me) Speedy Gonzales is threatened alongside Mr. Potato Head and other seasoned characters, images and books, it has gone too far. It is simply out of control.

First off, just who are these people determining what should and should not be “canceled”? Where is the basis that determines the need for something to be canceled? If it offends, hurts or is objectionable, be it sold, spoken, or put on social media they (whoever “they” is) want to cancel it. The definition and rules for canceling seem to be fluid and subjective.

It seems to have exploded with the advancement of social media and its rise to influence and power. Thus, anyone out there can say the right words to put a cancel mark on someone or something. Just make it seem like it is done with malice and some sort of -ism to it and it goes viral. I can only think some have offered “victims” just to see if they could make it stick. And, in fact, some on the basis of fantasy, lies or totally false information.
