4-H Provides Opportunities

Kaitlyn Watson, senior at Hampton High School, was awarded the State Advanced Record Book Award. She is the daughter of Brian and Melissa Gross. The process that led to this award was turning in a record book to the county 4-H office that listed all of the 4-H work for the year. The record books then went to state where students had to interview in front of judges and scored for their professionalism, attire, how well they know their projects, and their involvement in the community. Kaitlyn interviewed with two other 4-Hers in the area of Environmental Sciences and Energy.

Kaitlyn has been in 4-H for 9 years and plans on starting a Collegiate 4-H group at the University of Arkansas-Monticello in the fall. She plans on majoring in Forestry and Education. She has been on the Forestry team for 4 years. At the beginning, she was the only girl on the team. Now the team has flipped to only having one boy.
