C.A.R.E. Hosts Spay and Neuter Clinic

The Calhoun County Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) held a spay and neuter clinic on October 17-19. Approximately 115 cats and dogs were spay or neutered during the clinic. The clinic was started by Shirley Myers Lewis in March of 2014.

The clinic happens two times a year. The goal is humanely prevention. Lewis said C.A.R.E. makes no money from the clinics. All the money goes to the traveling veterinarians who attend the clinics and volunteers their time. It’s 100% volunteer based. Lewis said they always need volunteers to help at the animal shelter.
