CCSO Purchases New Guns

The Calhoun County Sheriff ’s Office purchased new Glock G45 9mm firearms and equipment this past week. “We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who donated to the fundraiser during Hogskin Holidays, and a big thank you to Quorum Court for voting to cover the rest of the cost,” said Sheriff Vernon Morris. The Sheriff and Deputies will now have department issued firearms along with holsters, magazine holders, and duty belts designed for the new firearms. “In the past, the Deputies had to furnish their own pistols to carry while on duty, but will now carry a Department issued firearm with a serial number issued to each Deputy,” Sheriff Morris added.
