Lightning Strike Destroys Equipment at Thornton Water Tower

The Thornton City Council met on July 8th with all members present. The past month’s minutes were accepted as printed. Mayor Coates discussed recent problems with a sensor at the water well which corrected itself and a recent lightning strike at the water tower which destroyed a piece of equipment. It will be replaced this week.

Fire Chief John Scott reported the progress at the new sub-station and that is it has a fire struck stored there. Her reported plans to get the drive/entrance to the station paved. The company that checks breathing apparatus will be here soon to check all equipment.
