Summer Reading Sign-Up Starts Monday!

Jamie and I are very much looking forward to the return of our usual Summer Reading Program this year. Sign-ups for the reading challenge start on Monday, June 7, at 12pm and our first event of the summer will be our Kick-Off Party on June 11 from 12pm-5pm. Stop by on Friday to pick up your reading logs or find out how to track your reading online, grab a snack (individually wrapped, of course), check out all the new books we’ve gotten lately, and play a round of Library Bingo to win a prize!

This summer we are doing things a little differently to accommodate those who are immunocompromised or not yet comfortable interacting with others due to COVID-19. All craft programs will be available as take-and-make kits starting at 12pm on the day of each program, while supplies last. The kits will have instructions, supplies, and everything you need to make the day’s craft at home. Some of the crafts for this summer are pocket sloths (sewn out of felt pieces and stuffed), animal magnets made from air-dry clay, and paracord bracelets, among several others. We will also be having some fun activities, such as an escape room, a candle-making workshop, Arkansas Trivia Jeopardy, and a stuffed animal sleepover. There will also be a storytime + craft program for toddlers, offered at three different times throughout the summer.
