Wilson to Remain as Police Chief

Cody Wilson, who was interim police chief, will remain as Hampton Police Chief. Hampton Mayor Rick Shirron told the city council he was pleased with the police department and how Wilson has performed as Hampton Police Chief. Shirron said he told Wilson after a year on the job they’ll decide if Wilson remains as police chief. Shirron said Wilson is doing a good job.

“We have a good crew,” Wilson told the city council.

Candy Edwards, water clerk for the city, retired early instead of fi nishing in April. Jamie Henson, from Locust Bayou, was hired as the water clerk. She will begin on Monday. Ginger McLelland received a pay raise approved by the city council to $12 an hour.
