Representative Barker Visits Hampton School Board
January School Board Recognition Month
State Representative Sonya Barker visited the Hampton School Board on Tuesday. The state of Arkansas designated January as “School Board Recogntion Month.” Barker told the board she appreciated what they do.
Hampton High School received two Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, or STEM grants from Aerojet Rocketdyne and Lockheed Martin. The school also received a grant to pay for an app from Stop It Solutions. The app provides anonymous reporting, incident management, and emergency monitoring. It will be free for students.
Test scores in Reading improved in third and sixth grade. The third grade test scores went from 10% to 40% meeting or exceeding expectations on the test.. Sixth graders started with 18% and grew to 40% meeting or exceeding expectations.
