Gleenda Sue Stevens,
age 87 of Hampton departed this life to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was born February 19, 1938 to Willie and Irene Glover in Keiser, Mississippi County, Arkansas. She graduated in 1956 from Dyess High School as Valedictorian of her class. She married Neal Stevens July 2, 1956. She and Neal, an Army Man, moved a lot over the years. They lived in Oklahoma, Alabama, Germany and Arkansas. Neal was called to the ministry and they served the Lord in various small churches. They were both called and ordained to be Home Missionaries for the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. They served in Indiana as Missionaries to Mobile Home Parks. They retired and moved to Hampton to be closer to family. Gleenda served as secretary of First Baptist Church in Hampton for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband Neal, children Michael Stevens, Pamela Carter, and Granddaughter Amie Counts Carter, Sister Delma Bretz, Brothers William Glover, Wendell Glover and Danny Glover. She leaves to cherish her memory Sister Pat Donaldson and Brotherin- law Darrell Donaldson and many nieces, nephews and others. Visitation will be 12-1:00 Friday, February 6 at Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Hampton with funeral to follow at 1:00 pm. She will be buried with Neal at the Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in North Little Rock.
