Elver Mae Black Carter

Elver Mae Black Carter, 78 of Harrell died Thursday July 29, 2021 at her home. Born April 19, 1943 at Spearsville, Louisiana, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Black, Sr. and Geneva Holley Black. She was a retired dispatcher for the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and a member of Harrell United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Carter; two sisters, Lena Jean Thurmon, Nelease Smith; one brother, Leslie Black, Jr.

She is survived by one son, Ricky Carter and his wife Lanetta of Harrell; one daughter, Rena Anders and husband Terry of Harrell; step-daughter, Caroline Frischbier and husband Rudy of Germany; twin brother, Elmer Black of Texarkana, AR; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will received friends Sunday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harrell United Methodist Church. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Monday at Harrell United Methodist Church with Dr. Marty Black, Rev. Charles Perry, and Rev. Rickey Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery.
