Johnnie Davis

On August 31, 2021, Johnnie Davis, age 70 years, was welcomed into the gates of Heaven. Most people knew Johnnie as a loving and caring person that devoted his life to helping people. He worked at IP for 27 years, volunteered with the local ambulance service and was county coroner for over 20 years. Johnnie was a Calhoun County Deputy for 15 years and, after his retirement, helped out as a reserve deputy. But above all of this, he was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend. It’s hard to find words to describe such a self-less person who always placed everyone else’s needs above his own. The world needs more Johnnie Davises.

Johnnie leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Alma; two sons, John and his wife Deanna of Arlington, TX and Mark and his wife Stephani of Hot Springs, AR; four beautiful granddaughters, Carmen, Hannah, Stephanie and Lyla and many other friends and family.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021.
